Level featuring many deep underwater sections and shipwrecks. Using a Boss Key to open the second lock on K. ![]() David has had plenty of better songs on Tropical Freeze and even many songs on DKC 2 are better than Stickerbush, like for example Forest Interlude, Snowbound Land, and Mining Melancholy are all better than Stickerbush Symphony.Īnyway David Wise really outdid himself in Tropical Freeze and it is a strong contender for my all-time favorite video game soundtrack along with DOOM 2016, Super Mario RPG, and Halo 2.Lobby, Theme, Caves, Enguarde Theme, Mermaid Palace, Pearl Treasure, Mechanical Fish, Sunken Ship, Ship Ruins, Lighthouse, Race, Barrel Course, Pufftoss Theme It has the perfect balance of being more happy and upbeat, but also completely acing and emulating what the older games captured and their atmospheres, and I personally thought all the remixes they did were better than the original versions.Īlso it's not limited by the SNES soundfont so David could go all out on the soundtrack in general.Īlso I don't really get why people say Stickerbush Symphony is the best song in the series. It contextually changes and morphs the most within the gameplay and level compared to the other games. It has the most flutes and incredible saxophone moments out of all the games. ![]() It felt the most varied out of all the the games. It has Grassland Groove, it has Punch Bowl which is probably the best boss music in a DK game, Windmill Hills, Aneduct Assault, Homecoming, Sawmill Thrill etc. It has a beautiful remix of Snowbound Land. The only water song I MIGHT rank higher is Kremlantis from Donkey Kong Land 1, but that's only with a SNES soundfont remix of it.Įven outside of the water has my favorite version of Stickerbush Symphony, the one with the saxophone in the credits is a masterpiece. It had by far the prettiest water music out of all of them. The water music in particular from Harvest Havards (Underwater), Irate Eight (Underwater) with its hybrid of Lockjaw's Saga and Aquatic Ambience, as well as Amiss Abyss!!!
